The bed is certainly comfortable on the surface but doesn't have as much padding on the bottom as it looks. It arrived crushed in a vacuum pack and when we first took it out it looked like there were 4 different fillings underneath with gaps in between. After a while some of this padding started to fray after being crushed, but even after 2 days they still feel like 2 separate pieces with a gap in between that has no padding at all. As far as I can tell my dog hasn't bothered since she started using it. And she doesn't dig into the ground like she usually does with her other bed (we bought this one so she could have one on the ground floor and the other upstairs), so I think she prefers it flatter. Of course she's a dog, so I'm just guessing. While I think it could be a bit better for the price, overall it's not bad.
