Review on πŸ’Ύ Patriot PXD 512GB M.2 PCIe Type-C External SSD: High-Speed Portable Storage Solution by Gary Ferguson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

External SSD with performance

Build quality 5/5: It seems to be made of metal and gets very hot during testing, but it bothers not and it shows me that the shell is doing its job to cool the SSD inside. Performance 5/5: As long as you're using USB 3.2 Gen2, it runs at around 1000Mbps, enough to saturate a 10GE connection. A score of 4/5 would be cheaper, but at $250 for 2TB, it's cheaper than most popular external SSDs like Samsung/Sandisk. m.2 NVME in a sleeve so it's larger than most USB sticks but works much better although there are others making other sizes that may be more portable. Overall 4.5/5 This is a really good external SSD that performs well, is well built and put on the market for the price. For me, this is the best option when you need speed. Just check the size, as it's not as small as a flash drive.

Pros
  • 512 GB capacity, latest USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C interface
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine
