If you read conflicting reviews on installation I think they are all correct. Installation depends on your personal electronics skills and following the detailed instructions. I can pretty much see who's in trouble if you've never worked on a computer or disassembled electronics. This might not be the best project for beginners, but if you want paddles that won't empty your bank account, this is for you. I've been watching YouTube videos and stopping after each step and double checking each step as my personal comfort level probably makes these projects very average. It took an hour and there were several steps that I struggled with as the electronics part inside is very small. However, this was solely because I had never done this setup before and I just needed to learn a little about it. I suggest you don't solder unless you are very experienced. A workaround if you need to use L3 or R3 on your paddles is to enable custom Playstation button assignments. You access this from the PS5 main menu under Settings > Accessibility > Controllers > Custom Button Bindings. Enable this feature, then use the app to map the L3 and R3 buttons to controller buttons that can be programmed onto paddles. After I'm done, the product works as advertised. My biggest concern will be long term durability. The buttons "feel" a bit more fragile than my old rear paddles. With the amount of use they will be getting I think time will tell if they can hold up.
