I don't know why there are so many bad reviews. People say it's loud, but mine is literally quiet. People say it's hot. Well, it should get a little warm, and mine doesn't even get very hot. My multimeter reads a stable 12.2 VDC. This gearbox is very compact and small compared to others I've seen, which saved me as my mounting options were very limited. If I have any durability/longevity issues I will post another review. Today, however, it's just fantastic, especially for $30. It's pretty hard to beat that.
