Review on Eminence X OversPXB3 3 Way Board Crossovers by Christopher Isaac

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Rock Solid CrossOver

I ordered a pair of these to influence the restoration of a pair of vintage ElectroVoice Encore 77 bookshelf speakers. When I say big I mean 12" woofer and 25" big. I swapped out the woofer, midrange and crossover. The tweeters were replaced a long time ago so are still usable. This crossover is really well built. . The terminals are 1/4" and can be slid onto the terminals or soldered directly. I decided to replace the crossover because the original OEM had too high a crossover point for the mids, 1200Hz, not the 500Hz like the Eminence. It's a full octave less than a woofer should worry about accuracy. The tweeter crossover is 5kHz and is typical of most 3-way systems.Rated at 300 watts, much more than I'll ever walk through these speakers but it's good to exaggerate Ultimately it's what they sound like and they sound great I use them with a set of 12" Pyramid PW1248USX woofers, 5" high output PYLE midrange drivers -PRO PDMR5 and some ribbon tweeters I installed a few years ago with two SONY 12" powered subwoofers, this setup covers the front channels of my theater. Eminence are a great brand and have their own advantages in the pro audio space. I recommend this crossover.
