I firmly believe in buying good shoes for your children. I've never been like this before, but my kids had constant joint problems and eventually we found out that one kid had juvenile arthritis and the other had hypermobility. . . Both were made worse by the cheaper shoes we bought. I have another daughter who gets shoe burns - she is very athletic and walks about 6 miles a day so she changes a pair of shoes about every 3 months. I quickly realized that buying more expensive shoes would cost me less in the long run. For them I insist on Nike or New Balance (Personally, New Balance is my personal favourite). I did not purchase these brands for my youngest daughter so when they were offered to me for review I thought they were worth a look. My daughter is a size 13 and they sent me a size 1 to check. She is about an inch longer so I would say if her feet were the right size they would fit just right. First, these shoes are cute. Beautiful purple with light green accents. All her sisters are jealous. These shoes are well made. The floor is a little slippery but not so much that we were concerned she would fall on the slippery floor. There is good stability at the base and sides so your ankles don't buckle. The laces are strong and offer extra support compared to shoes with Velcro. The insole is soft and comfortable, there is some arch support but not much, I'd say it's average. The construction of these boots is really good. I couldn't find any manufacturing defects other than a single stretch in the fabric at the top of the right boot.
