Parentheses are fine. Several screws were missing, and some of them didn't have a Phillips head to screw in.
Brackets are fine. Typical of what you'll see at a Hollyes or home depot store. 2 screws were missing and 2 of the screws had an improperly machined Phillips head so you could not insert a screwdriver. It would be nice if they gave you extra screws. I ended up having to go to Lowes to find the screws.
