The Velcro pad on the left shoe was not sewn to the straps like the right shoe, but glued to a different Velcro strap attached to the main shoe. I don't have time to trade in these shoes before I need them as I need them for tomorrow's event so I used super glue to fix this. I really hope it holds up well. Also, the last was badly worn and I had to cut some frayed laces to keep the shoe from looking cheap or old. I am extremely dissatisfied with this purchase; However, I have previously purchased this brand and style in other colors for my daughter. This has never been an issue in the past, so hopefully it's just a coincidence.
