Review on DuPont WFHD13001B Universal Filtration System: ๐Ÿ’ง Advanced Water Filter for Cleaner and Safer Water by Derrick Lowell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

DuPont WFHD13001B water filter for the whole house.

I've had it for a month now and I'm very satisfied. It removes all iron and sediment. My toilets are rust free! I have read some complaints about this product but in many cases it is the customers fault. One point of criticism is that the device is difficult to unscrew when changing the filter. A simple fix is to lubricate the threads on the male part and it will come loose immediately. I used sea lube. Also, don't overtighten! Screw it in by hand until you feel it is tight, then use the included wrench to turn it a maximum of 1/8 to 1/4 turn. turn more. Be sure to apply silicone grease to the O-ring before installing. Another complaint is that the intake tends to tear. In my experience, the only way to crack inlet connections is to use too much tape and/or overtighten. Remember this is plastic not metal and although it is heavy plastic too much force can break the inlet but it would be real GHOST to do so. I used two turns of tape along with the paste and screwed the fittings all the way down with no problems. So when you break the plastic you really have to do something from above. Now to the included filter. For average filter needs this might be fine, but since my iron problem is so severe I did NOT use the included DuPont WFHDC3001 filter cartridge. Instead I ordered a DuPont WFHDC8001 5 micron carbon cartridge and it works great. I hope to get out of the filter at least 3 months.
