Works on Macbook Pro but gets hot

A USB-C power cord, an external USB-A mouse and a 27-inch USB-A monitor on a 2018 15 -inch Macbook Pro connected. All of these worked individually or in combination. The USB-C power cord or USB-A monitor port heat it up pretty quickly, which is a problem.
