This is the most complex point and shoot camera I've ever owned. Of course, you can turn on this device, half-press the photo button, and the subject will appear on the screen. . . but that's where the simplicity ends. What's crazy is trying to access all the things you need to make the image exactly how you want it. Like me (a semi-pro since 1966!) you need some control. what the final image will look like. What you need to do in this case is study the manual you just downloaded from the internet (FORGOT the manual that came with the camera) and practice, practice, practice. Instead of buttons on the camera that can be used to INSTANTLY access certain functions, you have to decide WHICH button on the side to press (menu, home, or back) to get the job done. This is NOT a camera for those who don't know what to do if you want to get a fairly accurate representation of the image on the LCD screen. This little work is intended for those who, like me, are familiar with the intricacies of digital technology. That's why I gave this gem four stars. I know what the heck I'm doing in reasonable time to make a decision AFTER carefully reading the instructions. I took off a star because I know the average Joe would be utterly frustrated trying to get the image he wants with relative ease. The only advantage in this regard is that Plain Joe can make adjustments to the image using an editing program such as Adobe Photoshop, NX2 or Print Shop Pro. But is AJ able to use these tools? I doubt it. So this camera, while producing excellent images, is NOT for AJ. Unless AJ can get someone to program this thing to make pointing and shooting relatively easy, forget it. Which disqualifies it as an AJ camera, but not for those who want to carry this little camera in their shirt pocket and have something that produces great images. and Mrs. AJ? This is a great camera for you IF you know how to program it to get great pictures you just want to take. It certainly can - even at maximum digital zoom. And then there is the issue of this thing being recognized by your computer etc. Professionals or knowledgeable fitters? This is a miracle in a small package. AJ? Stick to inexpensive, "legitimate" point-and-shoot cameras that you can raise to your eyes, compose a scene, and press the shutter.
