Review on Scotch Brite Radial Bristle Ceramic Diameter by Rob Dixon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice aggressiveness for bristle discs

Mounting some of these coarse 50 grit brushes on a cheap 7000rpm plastic bushing on a Foredom tapered spindle mount works beautifully. Compared to the coarse grit fleece grinding wheels, which also remove a lot of the stainless steel I work with, they generate less frictional heat and have a smoothing rather than a rounding effect as they are fairly strong thick bristles unlike a much thinner jewelry version. also from 3M which is only 80 grit and the bristles will fall out if you overuse it. At high speed they shoot small sparks like any grinding wheel but with much more control and safety due to their flex if you push too hard. You definitely need a strong suction shroud around the wheel as it can fling metal dust right around you unless you have an acrylic screen on top and slightly in front.
