Review on Optimized Universal 24214 B234SR120M A000I Fluorescent Ballast by Rodney Mendoza

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Exact length but you will need 8 wire nuts.

Same length but much lighter and narrower. In my case, one end went into multiple slots while the other end was held in place with a nut and bolt. I loosened a screw and this one, which was the same length, snapped into place. HOWEVER the wires are not long enough to reach the Tombstone connectors. So the next step is to cut the color coded wires and reset the color to color. There are two of each color: it doesn't matter which is the same color, connect one yellow wire to the yellow wire, then connect the other yellow wire to the other yellow wire. Just one to one, don't connect the two yellow wires coming out of this thing. Now repeat for red and then for blue. The code requires these connections to be made with wire nuts. You will need 8 18 ha. wire nuts. Why 8 when there are only three output wire pairs and you can reuse wire nuts for input wires? Since the input wires are ridiculously short, you may need to extend them. Where can I get an extension cord? Cut the black and white wires off the old one and use it as an extension cord. You can also twist the wires together and use electrical tape, but that's not coding.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
