I've watched a few videos on You Tube but it was still a bit difficult to remove the original grille. From the first grille I worked on, I removed the chrome clips on the outer trim. Then I realized that there is a separate black inset (vertical lines) that also needs to be removed. You will feel it, trust me. Take your time. For the second grille I just removed the black inner grille and the chrome and black inserts came out together as one piece, much easier. Regardless of how you do it, the second one will be easier because of your learning curve. The work took me an hour. I definitely like the black grill, the product corresponds to the description and looks very nice. If you're on the fence, just do it. You will love the new look. Our X5 has an M Sort package so this grille matches the side window trim perfectly as they are gloss black instead of chrome like most X5s.
