Review on 8TB Seagate Backup Plus Hub Desktop Hard Drive with Data Recovery Services by Phurichaya Dhcana ᠌

It's impossible to use it, don't waste your money.

Discs of this model were purchased in two different regions. Discs were received in boxes with undamaged stickers. On the spot no inspection was carried out, as the box was not opened. It was possible to write a small amount of information to the disk, after which the operation ended with an error. After reconnecting the drive, it requested a format, which also fails. When viewed through the Seagate DriveDetect software, the serial number does not match the serial number on the chassis. When viewed through the HDDScan program, it is clear that completely different disks are installed inside the box, with a capacity of less than 8 TB. I came across 80GB and 500GB. It turns out that counterfeit external hard drives of this model are now on sale. Check in the store immediately upon receipt.

Pros
  • There are no complaints about the original discs, they have been working properly for several months.
Cons
  • Recently, fake disks of this model have been sold in large retail chains. There are counterfeit discs in an unopened box with a sticker. Check the discs immediately after purchase, in the store. 1) Download the Seagate DriveDetect program and check the drive number on the chassis with the drive number displayed in the program. 2) Use some program, for example, HDDScan, to check which hard drive is installed in the box. I got 80GB and 500GB instead of 8 Terabytes.
