Beautiful appearance, easy to use, takes up little space; Software needs updating

My wife and I have been on a healthy eating program since January 2020 (have lost over 50 pounds to date!) and portion control is critical to the program Meaning. We used a spring scale but I doubt its accuracy and it was quite difficult to use because it had a small tray on top, the spring had to be adjusted to accommodate the weight of the tray but I often couldn't fit everything in it tray and she had to wash it after use and dry it before the next weighing, which was a hassle. There are no such hassles here - if what you're weighing can lie on a flat surface, simply turn on the scale, drop in your item and a quick erase takes care of everything. If it's something that can't stand on a flat surface, simply place a bowl, plate, or measuring cup on the scale, press the "T" button, and in one second the scale will zero the container's weight . and you can remove it, fill it with whatever you want to weigh, and put it back on the scale (although this process is time-limited, so make sure everything you want to weigh is ready when you do the tare press button.) Steel and very thin so it fits easily in a drawer if you don't want it on the counter (we leave it on the counter because it takes a long time). takes up less space than our old scale.) If I give a product one thing (and one star, I'll update the rating if it gets fixed in the future) it's for the iOS software you connect the scale to and track the products you weigh. For basics like weighing cooked chicken breasts, it's easy and convenient; for something else like a meal replacement bar or a bowl of soup, if a branded product isn't in their database (and none of the products from our healthy eating plan were), you have to add it yourself and the process is a bit difficult to do. In the screenshot you can see the input mask for about 30 nutrient components and for each of them you have to carefully click on the zero that the app fills in the value field - if you click on the left side of the zero it will add a zero to the one you entered number, so you have to press on the right side of the zero (unless your value ends in zero, of course), which isn't easy. Again, this is only an issue if you need to enter custom groceries, but in my case, since everything is customizable, I gave up around eight after setting it up and switched to "MyFitnessPal" to track my groceries - I need the typing adjust what i use a scale but its easy to do. I'm surprised the software isn't great because I have their renpho scales and the software is excellent. I hope they have an update for food scales. All in all great scaling and if you can get by with the database that the iPhone app comes with then this is the perfect food tracking solution.
