I bought this detector over similarly cheaper detectors based on a question and answer from a customer who said they had both 2.4GHz, Wi-Fi and 5 GHz supported. When I opened the box and saw "2.4GHz only" on the instructions, I was about to return it. Many pure 2.4 GHz home devices will not work with today's mesh routers. Even though your mesh network uses both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, many devices will not connect, causing confusion with the same SSID for multiple access points on different channels. To do this, you have to add an additional old 2.4GHz WiFi router with a different hotspot name just to connect an old-fashioned device, which in turn makes it difficult for different devices in your home to communicate since they are on different subnets. .Despite the discouraging words in the manual, I tried it and it works with Google Wifi, so I think it will probably work with other mesh networks too. The rest of the features, performance and user interface are as described in other reviews and Q&A - very good. My only suggestion to Proteus is to test different brands of Mesh Wifi and update their manuals and claims to take advantage of the important features of their product. My suggestion to buyers: If you want to place the main unit away from an outlet to save space, buy a USB extension cable.
