I have used a few devices of this type and until I bought this one none of them worked. More specifically, this adapter works but has image quality issues on any monitor that uses an HDMI port. This particular adapter works well with the VGA and DVI output ports, but has some issues with the HDMI port. When converting from HDMI, all text and images have a slight "shadow" which makes them appear fuzzy and difficult to focus on text/images. Anything less than a quick look will give you a headache. It works fine when using it with a VGA or DVI cable on the output side, but not so well with HDMI. UPDATE: The company contacted me after I posted this review and offered me a replacement. this is where it gets weird. I was emailed a "code" to use on Revain, which allowed me to purchase another one for 1 cent. I declined and told the company that if they replace it they will replace it. After weeks of waiting for a new device shipped from China, a replacement has arrived. I tested it on 3 different computers/graphics cards/monitors and the HDMI connection is actually WORSE than the original! When the monitor is connected to the HDMI port, there is obviously a double image that overlaps slightly, making viewing images painful and viewing text almost impossible. While I appreciate that the company is trying to get things right, they clearly have an issue with the HDMI connection that they need to solve/fix. Since this copy has the same problem, only worse than the original, I can only assume that none of the items have been tested or quality checked. For this reason I am changing my rating to 1 star. As I mentioned, VGA and DVI connections work fine, but since I bought this product specifically for DP to HDMI conversion, it's basically useless to me. I hate to say it, but this is just another piece of junk from China.
