It was a stroke of luck when our vacuum broke the standard/standard hose. The original hose twisted badly (sometimes pulling the vacuum cleaner across the room or down the stairs) and was always difficult to use. It cracked pretty early on and I kept tape around it until one day it broke again and I was frustrated and tired of struggling with my vacuum cleaner every time I tried to use it. I went online and found this replacement so I ordered it and hoped it would be better than the original. I am happy to say that I am very impressed with this hose! I no longer have to struggle with my vacuum to stretch the hose without rewinding it. This one stretches easily, curls softly but firmly and is much more flexible than the original hose and I haven't had any trouble popping it yet. It was easy to install and a great price. I am very happy with this purchase! Update 4/25/20 - I went back to order another hose because this hose just ruptured its first time. I was delighted to discover that the last time I ordered this hose was 5 years ago.
