Review on SSK Aluminum Enclosure External Compatible by Sean Andrews

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The SSK drive enclosure is very good, cheap and fast when paired with an SSD.

The SSK drive has a metal body and is quick and easy to install. It comes with four screws and a screwdriver, so you don't have to search for assembly tools. It also has an insulating sheet that can be placed on part of the drive's motherboard if needed. I have tested several drives and none of them needed such an insulating sheet. The SSK Drive Case is fast and very cheap. This provides an easy way to access disks without having to install them. It can accommodate both 7mm and 9.5mm 2.5" SATA HDDs and SSDs. It's very sleek and professional looking, and the logo is barely visible. 4.5" (HWD) The SSK Drive Enclosure does not require a power supply as it is USB powered. The drive enclosure emits a blue light and flashes blue when the drive is in use. I have the drive enclosure with Windows 10 and MacOS tested connected to USB 3.1, 3.0 and 2.0 and it worked as expected I was able to achieve packet transfer rates in excess of 419 MB/s averaging 392.6 MB/s (3.8 Gb/s) when using a Micron Used SATA SSD and connected to USB 3.1 or 3.0 When connected to a HGST SATA hard drive, the transfer speed was slower (83.1 MB/s), which is to be expected since the hard drive's rotation speed did not allow for higher transfer speeds. Plastic case Instead of an insulating film, I would have liked a piece of Styrofoam so that the 7mm disk does not slip when screwed in. With a 7mm drive, it can take longer than necessary to fill the drive holes with align with the holes in the case. , which is not the case with the 9.5 mm, as it is very tight. The SSK drive enclosure is inexpensive, stylish and works.
