Okay, this thing is awesome! I've never been able to keep a beautiful manicure for more than a day and the photo I posted is day 6! Usually when I use the gel they start to come off after 2-3 days. I think the reason this stuff works so well is that it's a bit flexible so it can withstand the rigors of everyday use better than a more ribbed UV gel. I followed other reviewers' suggestions of setting the base for a few seconds (10-15) before applying powder or glitter and this seemed to work the best. I've also tried not curing it at all and applying large glitters to a damp base. (I haven't tried this with dipping powder, just coarse glitter). It was a little tricky because the base is a bit flimsy and I had to touch up some glitter bits before curing, but it worked and it cured well. I also tried curing the base myself through the UV light and some of my nails weren't sticky enough to hold the glitter so they were rough after I filled them in. I was able to sand them down and reapply the top coat with no problems. This method also worked well with powder, but the fingers closer to the highlights weren't as sticky, so they didn't have as much color, but it wasn't as noticeable. Just me for doing it. What I love most about this product is that I can do a very thin manicure with powder if I want and it will last forever! Or I can add more layers and make it thicker for better coverage with big sequins. The base is thin enough that I could barely get my nails wet, dry for 10 seconds, add powder and then apply a thin top coat. The top layer is very smooth and shiny. I found it to feel a bit "sticky" or squishy straight out of the light, but after a minute or two it's smooth and firm and doesn't dent or scratch. I will definitely buy this set again!
