This juicer is made of thick, high quality stainless steel. The big plus is that it doesn't take a lot of force to squeeze the juice out of the citrus fruits: the two parts don't stick to each other, but fit together. This can be a problem if the juicer tends to slip when turning citrus, but since the cone design is very efficient, you don't have to put in much effort and therefore don't have to grip the base too tightly. The cone is so efficient that you can easily go through the skin or remove the pulp without getting real juice: this juicer works best with light pressure. Please note that the cone is not sharp, so there is no safety problem even if children use it or use too much force. . I used the dishwasher like I would any other stainless steel cookware and the juicer was like new. The bottom holds the juice of about 2 medium-sized oranges. All in all this is a good product. It may only take a few tries to find the exact pressure for the best juice. UPDATE 4/25/11: I've been trying to make more orange juice for Easter brunch and I'd say after about 6 hours it's time to ask friends for help if you don't want your wrist to hurt next time Day!
