This box seems very sturdy and weatherproof. I recommend running the wires through the bottom of the box and sealing them up after install if you live in a high humidity environment However I'm sure it would be just fine either way. I'm using this for an indoor application because I wanted something airtight and this fits the bill! This does look high quality and I would believe it would last over 10 years outside in direct sunlight judging by the feel and quality. I can't fault this item at all whatsoever. I recommend installing it as high as possible to keep people from messing with it (banging on it or running into it with equipment). I don't see an easy way to lock this box but that can be solved a few different ways. It does have a little hole for a tamper proof tag but I don't believe it would accommodate any kind of lock. All in all great product I would have to recommend this for any DIY electrical application; indoors or outdoors! I'll be purchasing a few of these coming up soon because I like them a lot and I have come up with a lot of good uses for them.
