Used in a small amount of hot water with a very fluffy paint roller to remove nicotine stains from a popcorn top. It worked so well I used it on the walls too. I figured that for the quilt, the best way to do it is to do two heavy coats in a few minutes and then rinse with hot water or a weak mixture. Yes, it knocked off some of the textured ceiling, but not enough to tell by looking. You can use some plastic to cover the bottom because it will drip, I used a 4mm roll of plastic which was strong enough. As for the paint roller, shake out most of the water first before attaching it to the ceiling, it should only be slightly damp. Roll it a few times, then re-wet the roll and repeat with another dose of a clean, strong mixture of a teaspoon and hot water, and then repeat again with just hot water or a weak mixture of one teaspoon and water. The matte color worked very well for the walls. After rolling, peel off a very heavy layer and then leave it on for about 5 minutes (better if it doesn't dry out). It seems to discolor slightly if you leave it for a few minutes. Then I treated it again with a weak mixture of a teaspoon and hot water and dried it with a towel. The glossy varnished areas look like they need a second treatment, but those are the first areas I've cleaned and I'm not exactly used to a good routine. This material is not suitable for your skin. Wear gloves. Don't get in your eyes. In general it works fine. You can get it cheaper at Home Depot, but it's not a bad price for shipping.
