, especially at the price I got on sale. However, the ease of use, or lack thereof, quickly quenched my enthusiasm for this ever-victorious war between quality and quantity. The Apple side, with a little effort, could connect every time without too much trouble, but the slider doesn't lock the different sides (it locks when centered and both sides are in the case, and it's difficult to close reach use the other side) also on the Windows/Android side, which requires a little more effort to insert the device ports, you need to hold the USB connector by pressing and holding the slider while installing the device port. It wouldn't make much of a difference, except that even with pressure applied, the Type-C connector that came with the actuator could never be connected to the actuator. I had a few of my own and was finally able to attach it to one of my three, but it took some effort. The USB 3.0 connector is very difficult to plug into a device or hub and requires some force, requiring the slider to be held in the extended position with your thumb as a lock, and even then it pushes the USB 3.0 back multiple times into the housing. Due to the power required to use this end I have not tried using the micro USB connector yet for fear it will break and I will no longer be able to use USB 3.0. The app was very easy to use with my Apple devices so I was up and running right away, but the interface to Apple is a bit confusing. I still haven't figured it out so I won't comment anymore because I don't quite get it. The Android/Windows interface is very simple. No app required, works like Windows Explorer and Android file systems, so no problem. Overall the amount of storage I have is next to nothing, just be prepared to find the right mix of finesse and performance to make it work. It's definitely not one of those drives that you can throw in a backpack full of the rest of your life and expect it to be safe, sane, and functional when you finally dig it up. He will need a safe and soft home to give him a long rest.
