I bought this router to replace the EA6200 I bought a few years ago and it was nothing more than a problem. To describe what is wrong with this router I will describe what is wrong with the EA6200 since they are no different from each other. The EA6200 is a very simple device with internal antennas. The two main reasons for the purchase were the move from G to N speeds and from 10/100 Ethernet to full gigabit capabilities. I also liked the fact that it could manage a shared storage device and was dual band and provided a 5GHz connection. I have a small house and there are almost no problems with internal interference. I have had a WRT54G for many years and have never had a signal strength problem. In fact, my WRT54G was able to broadcast to my backyard with no problem. However, the EA6200 is very weak and could hardly transmit any signal to my second floor. I would also be a room away from him and would see a weakened signal on my i devices. My Revain FireTV was having trouble getting a signal on the second floor and kept dropping out. For some reason this device has problems with DNS. If you don't know what DNS is, google it. I have Time Warner (now Spectrum) as my ISP. It's all pretty straight forward. Plug in the modem, allow it to fully boot up, and then boot up the router. After this point, no more configuration should be done. But that's not the case. Not only would I have to statically assign DNS entries on the router, but also several of my WiFi devices to get online. This is unacceptable. I even had a few devices that had to be statically assigned their own TCP/IP stacks in order to use the internet. The router won't let me use 2.5GHz and 5GHz WiFi at the same time. I had to disable the 5GHz signal for the WiFi to work. Guest mode is a joke. It was hacked almost immediately. Glad I found a random person who used it before it could do any real damage. I read that some people had numerous problems with the EA 6200 after I got it and some of them replaced it with the EA6350 and reported that their problems were fixed. It didn't happen to me. Read all of the above and replace each "EA6200" entry with "EA6350". There is no difference between the two routers other than external antennas, which I consider to be purely cosmetic in my experience as there is no difference in signal strength between the two models. For DNS problems, there is no difference. There is no difference that 5GHz is useless. I'm returning it and getting something else that hopefully doesn't have the same issues. Note: This unit has been refurbished and when I received it I had not factory reset it. It still had a few improvements from the previous owner. That too is totally unacceptable.
