The first few days these had a chemical smell to them, but it dissapated after sitting out. I used these shoes the remainder of the winter, and they were so warm I could wear them without socks. They were absolutely comfortable and just what I expected. When they got wet, the shoe was a little saturated, but not to the point that my foot felt it, if that makes sense. These did the trick for cleaning snow and walking to and from work, but I am not sure about using them while skiing or through piles and piles of snow for a length of time. I was very satisfied with the boots and even had to laugh at my daughters who both put them on their feet going to get the mail because they were so warm. I got these boots at a discount in exchange for my honest review, which is what this is.Granted, I did not put heavy wear and tear on these boots, but they lasted the winter for me. I look forward to using them in the misery that will be next winter. It may be off season now, but buy these for your winter next year!
