The in-ear headphones are not charging

The shipping box says the headphones are 100% charged. The headphones on my phone say 50%. Your charge will not increase regardless of whether the carrying case is connected or not. I left them overnight and they won't charge. Otherwise they work great but only live for a few hours before dying forever.
