Review on Garmin Dashboard Mount: Easy-to-Install Holder for Your Device (Standard Packaging) by Andrew Spainhour

what is beautiful. First of all, it's about the actual assembly of the thing.

The "permanent" adhesive pad designed to attach this assembly to the dash just DOES NOT WORK on my car ((Subaru, which doesn't have an *overly textured* dash)). Comes with two sticky pads - luckily? - and I went through both as instructed, cleaned the mating surface with alcohol, pressed firmly and let it sit for 24 hours ((72 hours, second time)) before applying weights. but both times, at the height of the day, they came loose with the GPS module attached the very first day I used them. On my dash, this means the GPS module itself crashes into the floor of the car after just 1/4 mile before having to do 3 turns in quick succession in an area I'm completely unfamiliar with. not sure. So - a bit of ingenuity later, and after spending about $8 on plastic plastic epoxy at the hardware store, I now have a *real* permanent GPS mount. which is great. Once the issue with installing this thing on the dashboard is fixed, this thing works great. I can easily remove and replace the GPS, rotating and adjusting it *exactly* for different sized drivers, and I never have to worry about a stupid suction cup mark on my windshield or it falling into a floorboard at *just the wrong moment falls * again. I can even raise the sun visor on the windshield without removing the GPS. 4 stars for *permanent mount* that doesn't work AT ALL. I think Garmin should have included a tube of epoxy instead of those useless adhesive discs. otherwise it's great. So great that while this is a really big issue and I should have only given it 1 or 2 stars, I have a feeling it might work on other dashboards and I've already forgotten all the issues I've had with it that I'm so in love with the fact My windshield is experiencing a freedom it's never known!
