works well for the price.

The volume meter matches the markings on the dial but none of them match the actual output voltage. I get 15V, with a setting of 26V I get 30V etc. With a setting of 130V I get an output of 148V. Output peaks -1.3V at maximum output (148V) and -0.6V at near minimum setting (2 V) intermittent (2 Hz, smooth peak) . Aside from the fact that this peak voltage is +/- 0.1V about 70% of the time, the remaining 30% is tied to this peak. the dial rotated several times from minimum to maximum and to minimum at a more or less constant speed. The voltage spike occurs at around 25V on my device and is significant. You can see it in the picture. otherwise the transition from minimum to maximum stress is smooth. Chart scale 0V-160V, average 80V. Also included is an oscilloscope output at 2V. My oscilloscope is only rated for 10V max and I have no intention of pushing it with this unit. shows 60 Hz +/- 0.1 Hz with a periodic peak in Hz from time to time resulting in a drop to 20 Hz. The spike is very brief (a few microseconds or less I think; I haven't tried capturing it on the oscilloscope to measure it explicitly.) and occurs less than once per second, so that's fine. You can see that the peak measured in the stats frame on the oscilloscope image under the Min bar, the middle bar is still close to 60z, so not a significant peak. If you're interested in a burst that short, you're probably also interested in the waveform - the oscilloscope shows a fairly clean sawtooth waveform, not a sine wave. it is not the guna of being laboratory equipment. In general, everything is fine for the price. It doesn't have to be a lab device, and as long as you don't interfere with the actual output voltage, it should work just fine. I am very happy with it. UPDATE: Has been working 24/7 for 11 months, no problems.
