I've had these trees for a few weeks now. The bark of the tree is a shimmering black substance. Although the shine does not fall off. Montage is zero. The tree came in a tall box. The branches do not bend. The tree doesn't need fluffing, so I don't see that as a problem. I really think this makes the wood more durable for long term use. You must be standing on some kind of touch timer. After a few days, I noticed that they automatically turned on at the time I turned them on each day. They also turn off automatically after a few hours of use. The violet LEDs are very bright! The power switch is located on the side of the base. (Not the bottom) Icing - Extras! The package includes a bag for accessories with cobwebs and spiders in a plastic wrap! I didn't put them on the tree. I preferred to use it elsewhere in my Halloween display. Amazing value for money!
