I was looking for a replacement for my kids phone, she has a Xiaomi Mi A2 to play games, take photos make and text her friends. I thought it would be a good replacement due to the full screen mode and 48MP still camera. But it's not much better, oddly enough I thought it was worse. I compared this phone to my Samsung Note 10 and my daughter's Mi a2. Here's what I found. No wonder the Note 10 takes much better pictures, faster and better in every way. I'm not deducting any stars because the Note 10 is much better. I give it 3 stars because it's slightly better than the Mi A2. It's a better looking phone, it feels like a higher end phone in the hand than the A2, it's faster (not by much), more storage, a bigger and better screen but most of all and what got me into it has to buy this phone First place was the camera. The camera was below average considering Xiaomi advertises how good this camera is. Interior shots suck - the A2 took the best interior shots. The night mode sucks - almost useless - of course note when I compare this to a Samsung, but it's useless. better photos and it doesn't even have that option/feature. The camera was such a disappointment that I restarted the phone and printed out a return label. I didn't even take it outside to test as it sucks inside and it's maybe half the photos she takes. I figured it's not even worth testing further. Good: Faster than A2, comparable to mid-range phones. Speakers - cue loud, not pleasant sounding Very nice to look at Wide-angle camera price Bad: Camera - indoor, night, macro, front/selfie cam - all sucks Speed - a little behind a year or two older. I thought it was that bad. Either A2 is really good or it's really bad. This phone on paper should be way better. Like the difference between day and night. That's why it gets 3 stars.
