I have a pretty sophisticated Wear OS smartwatch from Huawei, which is really awesome with lots of features and options, but in truth there are two things that make this watch practical for me: battery life and visibility on the street. Fossil Hybrid HR virtually eliminates both of these specific problems. The battery life is amazing with a charging time of 1 hour. And with enough sunlight, it's easily visible outdoors. I'll limit the notifications features to a few basics: email, text messages, weather, heart rate, steps, and sleep data. The watch emits a very noticeable vibration/buzz to alert me of an incoming notification. There are a few other bells and whistles that are nice to have but don't change the game with or without them. If simplicity and style are your requirements, this could also be your thing. The software on the phone is more than adequate, and once I get the hang of it, it's easy to use. To be honest, my millennial son gave me a "buttons" lesson (two minutes) and clarified the UI questions I had. In general I highly recommend it. Buy with confidence.
