Excellent Single Side Bearings

I'm a process engineer and I build machines and robots for a living. These yoke bearings are excellent, well made and good value. If you don't know much about overrunning clutches and bearings, here's some more information for you. There are many types of one-way bearings and couplings, but they are very different even though they look the same. There are 3 types of workloads that most people worry about in this type of application. An axial or axial load acts in the direction you slide the shaft into the bearing. In other words, if the bearing is loose on the shaft, the application of an axial load will cause it to slide on the shaft. Radial load is the direction in which most loads act. When the bearing supports the wheel, the extra weight on the axle increases the radial load. Torque loading is the ability of this bearing to rotate in only one direction. Here's an important part that's often overlooked: Most types of cantilever bearings are NOT designed to take radial or axial loads, only torque. So you usually need to have the bearings already installed to fully support the load and the overrunning clutch ONLY takes the torsional loads. These clamp rings/bearings are actually ball bearings with cages (unidirectional elements) between the bearing balls. Thus, these bearings withstand high radial loads, moderate axial loads, as well as torsional loads. Using this type means you don't need other bearings to support those loads. They are constantly lubricated (without full vacuum or immersion) but can release a small amount of grease at higher temperatures, which is only a problem if your project calls for ultra-clean conditions. I have bought several of these and have been using them for several months and am completely satisfied with them.

Pros
  • Deep Groove Ball Bearings
Cons
  • Long Delivery Time
