Haven't had a chance to use them myself. Thank goodness but I borrowed them to help dig a 4x4 in the sand. They were about 20 yards away in soft sand. They created a ramp blocking access towards the wheels. It took them twice to clear the sand path of the tires and use the traction plates. Before use, be sure to check or mark the position of the traction ramp above the ground. both times we had to search for them under 12 inches of sand. If you use a cane or cane, they will be easier to find. Every stick stuck in the ground helps. They are completely covered with sand.
