I've been more into cutting cables lately when I terminated my IP/telephone company due to poor service and overpayment. Since the building I live in is over 150 years old, this is a historic event. I also opted into Vonage's VoIP service and found that the WiFi in my bedroom was slow due to the 18 inch brick walls and the use of steel joists and an RJ12 phone and RJ45 Cat 6 cable to one Wall hooked up wood studs and down the opposite wall and got permission to run the cables through the wall into my bedroom and now I have 100% coverage with no dead spots as I also installed a repeater in my bedroom. This made it easier to install and hide the wires.
