We recently bought a home that we saw in March and closed in April when winter is still deciding whether or not it will be finished in the north midwest so there was no red flags . then when we saw the house. However, by the time summer came, the basement was crawling with spiders (not the cute fluffy jumping spiders, but the creepy leggy ones, which I realized with horror are also cannibals, and I guess that's the only way they thrive there). We don't visit the basement often so we just agreed with the spiders that they could have a basement. Then they broke this agreement and began taking over the ground floor, bathroom and corners of the top floor. It means war. We also mostly had flies that just flew in when the door was opened as briefly as they do. We also found horrible bed bugs (two crawled all over me and into my book!), wasps kind of got into the house, and earlier in June/July there were a mouse or two. Before spending a fortune on a fighter, I decided to try these. I saw a few positive reviews, a few negative ones, but it sounded like the negative ones just didn't give them enough time. I gave him a week alone with three of them in a basically empty basement. No change, the spiders didn't move at all and were in the same places as before. Second week, no change. Week three, four, five, six and now we have spiders and wasps and I've found these bugs called killer bugs and all sorts of vermin! I don't know what scares them off other than money from your wallet and trustworthy reviews, but they don't scare away spiders, wasps, bed bugs, killer bugs, mice, flies, stink bugs, bugs of various kinds and all other living creatures. the creature that entered my house. I've put several around the room at different heights and tried to get them to work to no avail. All they did was use electricity and add to my electric bill. If you have a bug problem, let me tell you what you should do is use the stick of a hand vacuum or vacuum cleaner to suck up all the bugs and cobwebs, droppings or whatever. Do this every once in a while, once a month or so, and find spots where you might have holes in the trim or gaps around doors or windows or any other place a bug could get in and repair that spot and spray some insect repellent you can find at any supermarket or hardware store. This will solve the problem. Or get a fighter if the problem is really serious, even after trying to suck and fix the gaps. This is nothing but an annoying bright blue night light. Extremely disappointed. Look at the picture where the spider is literally on top of things and comfortably lives!
