Cubot's poor build of Android

The operating system looks like "stock" Android, but Cubot builds in a proprietary battery saver mode that cannot be stopped or disabled. Turning off Android's main battery saver in settings doesn't stop it. It's so aggressive at killing apps that you won't get any app notifications if you haven't used that app in the past few hours. Avoid.
