During the second walk I noticed that there was several degrees of slow gravity decay on the sphere after tightening the ring. I do macro photography so this can be an issue - especially when it took a few seconds to complete the movement - you had to look very closely to see the creep. With a shutter speed of 1/15 of a second, it matters. In any case, the increase in torque on the pull handle was not a pleasure. The ring simply burst, instantly creating a travel-ready pulp of paper. I liked everything else about the tripod, but one shortcoming was a major flaw.
