Not identical to the cable it's replacing so won't work properly

The cable I'm replacing has a square end so it stays in the charging cradle when I turn it on and take it out. This one is round so it won't stay in place. I have to reach the stand (which sits on the floor), grab this cable and plug it in. It works, but it's inconvenient to use.
