I bought this tape to trim a suit. When I peeled off the tape that was on the roll, the gold came out with it. The fabric underneath is white. I have noticed that the gold layer peels off when you scratch with your fingernail. The product itself is like foam, not like fabric tape or hard plastic. That would be fine for something that can't be washed or dry cleaned, but not for a sewn-in trim at the hem. However, it's a decent price for a decorative finish and looks good. Both sides are fully covered with gold foil. I'll probably leave it to the kids to craft. I just want someone to write a review about suitability for clothes before I buy it.
