I use Permatex 77134 on keyway exhaust systems on my aircraft. (Slip joints allow for thermal expansion.) My exhaust temp is about 1500 degrees Fahrenheit and I was able to disassemble the joints after twenty hours of flight; That's a good sign. The manufacturer recommended that the wedges be disassembled, shot blast cleaned, buffed with a crocus cloth and reapplied with nickel anti-seize every two years. I also use this product for spark plug threads. I suspect that Nickel Anti-Seize would work just as well on auto exhaust or other high temperature applications.
