We love being able to wall mount them above the sofa in our family break room. Do not try to use new LED bulbs. This lamp does not work. Initially, they will not be very bright at all, and the connection will constantly turn on and off. The dimmer only works well with conventional light bulbs from 60 to 100 watts. So if you want to use an LED, don't buy it. That being said, we still enjoy looking and working with light. I find dangling strings a bit ugly. For such a price, a great option instead of a floor lamp
