2012 Escape - 200 foot range

I bought a used Escape that didn't come with remotes, although all of this model year's Escapes had keyless entry with remote, so I started looking for remotes. I found them to be a cheap, if not the cheapest, alternative with good reviews. The fobs were delivered promptly via Prime and upon initial inspection (aside from the lack of branding/FCC on the back) I could see no difference from the Ford fobs I have had for other vehicles in the past. The color and finish of the button markers are great. Also, all the buttons are flush slightly recessed, the black plastic sticks out further than the buttons so none of them stick out, which would lead to frequent unintentional presses of the "pocket" buttons. Programming the key fob for my Escape consisted of pressing the unlock button on the inside door handle, quickly turning the key in the ignition from off to on 8 times very quickly until it ended in the on position, and pressing any button on the first fob to be programmed, then press any button on the second fob. to program the sequence (no need to play the button on-off). It literally took less than a minute! Consult your owner's manual or google to find out how to program for your car as some use a different sequence. Locking/unlocking and double tapping the trunk release button worked flawlessly and instantly. No lag like some clone keychains. After parking the car, I began to get carried away with how reliably the remote would work. At a distance of 70 long steps, with a clear, unobstructed view, the locking/unlocking has always worked! That's about 200 feet! At 80 steps it was about 50/50. I can only say WOW! I was hoping for 100 feet lol! Highly recommended. and if i run into any problems i will update this review.
