Overall I am very happy with this device. It's effective as an activity tracker and keeps me more active all the time. This provides an incentive to keep parking in the lot, walking errands, and not sedentary at weekends. I really feel better because I've increased my activity level and I don't have to settle for a higher price for FitBit. However, I doubt the accuracy of the sleep tracker. I was at a conference last week - sat late - and the sleep tracker recorded it as giving me 14 hours of sleep that day. I also wonder about the calorie counter, in terms of how accurately it tracks me and how much it relies on algorithms: the rate of calorie burn at different times of the day is odd and tends to lag behind what activity-based metabolic calculators offer. The pedometer works best in shoes: if you walk barefoot from the bedroom through the hallway and the living room into the kitchen, sometimes only 2 steps are registered. However, setting a device-determined baseline activity level and working to increase it was effective, and I think it was precisely outdoors and on tiled floors where I spent most of my time walking. All in all, this is an effective compromise to save on price. I've been using it for several months and intend to keep using it while it's still working.
