I do a lot of remodeling and 3D printing. Some time ago I bought such a movement and 3D printed the watch. I gave it to my sister and it ended up in the trash. So I received these two packages while thinking of several wall clock and table clock ideas. I have one of these. wall mounted clockworks and I have a 3D printer making a desktop design for the second clockwork as I write this. I have tested both mechanisms and they work perfectly as intended, which is a simple assembly of the clock you are building. They run on one AA battery and appear to be reasonably accurate. I'm sure they will drift over time, but that's enough for the purpose they were created for. do not disturb others. The movements I've used in the past have a blind hole or triangular hole in the back for hanging the movement on a nail or screw. These movements don't. Instead, they come with thin metal braces. One end is rounded with a hole that fits into the protrusion on the front of the mechanism. The other end is triangular in shape with a triangular hole that allows it to be hung on a nail or screw. Now I don't like that I have to try to keep this mount centered on my clock construction while attaching my construction to the movement to get the clock to hang properly. That means 12 o'clock up, 6 o'clock down and so on. The bracket rotates when I tighten the mounting nut, so I had to keep changing the position of the bracket when I first installed the clockwork on my wall mount. This is much easier to manage if the hanging hole is on the back of the device and not on the external mount! I really want to try my desk clock design; I designed it so that the movement is fixed and I don't have to worry about shifting, but I digress here. Again, for the price and purpose of these mechanisms, they're good for a fun little DIY project. or two. However, if I need more watch movements in the future, I'll buy one that doesn't have a hanging arm like this one!
