Review on Deluxe Wooden Storage by Melissa & Doug by Gerard Hudson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Big quantity for the price!

Great blockset. They are slightly smaller than the letter blocks I remember as a kid. I think they would be good for children's hands. Bought as a gift for my niece who is now 9 months old. I bought them cheap. I don't think she'll be using them for a few more months. The age range for this is 2 and up. There is no warning on the packaging about chew cubes, I am concerned about the colour, so this will be a supervised toy for children who are still in the chewing phase. The edges are rounded and sometimes appear a bit rough. However, this is easily remedied with sandpaper. The set contains 50 blocks and a bag to put them back in. I think a pouch is a better idea than a storage box, you don't have to carefully align them to make them fit. The pack also includes ideas for educational games with your little ones using letters, numbers and pictures on the blocks. The only flaw I see is on the pages with pictures. Some of them have a much lighter font than others, so it seems to me that if you let the chewer use them for too long, these images run the risk of being rubbed off/soaked through. This is a guess as I have not seen them in action.

Pros

Cons
  • Something different
