I purchased this EPCM as a backup for my remanufactured 1990 Chevrolet 1500 Silverado pickup with a 305 V8 engine. Not thinking I'd need it, I packed it along with other "extras" I'd bought since the trucks ran out. And three months later I had an issue with my truck where the car's ECM fuse kept blowing and the fuel pump shutting off. Luckily I have AAA and the truck was towed 2 times back to the store. But the fuse kept blowing but never leaving an "error code"! So we had no business. We all connected and one night I was about to go to bed and called the store and left a message on their answering machine saying I had bought a refurbished Cardone EPCM and a new "Cal-CHIP". The next morning the store called and asked me to leave Cardone at 77-7747 and sure enough, that was the solution. The old EPCM was 22 years old and had a short in its circuit board. After installation he had to adjust the transmission but it took about 25 miles and now the truck runs perfect no more blown fuses. Funny that that was the last thing on our mind?
