Best tasting plastic in water filters and softeners

Installed in my RV myself. The connections are pressed to connect them with a compression fitting. Looks good, easy to attach. The supplied plastic hose gives the water an unpleasant plastic taste. It should be easy enough to switch to quarter-inch copper. It has American flags all over it, but it doesn't say where it was made. Appears to be chinese
