Review on πŸ“š Sauder Beginnings 5-Shelf Bookcase in Cinnamon Cherry Finish by Diane Beachem

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good for light use. Disappointed

We bought it in Cinnamon Cherry but as you can see it's almost black. With the right lighting you can see a little bit of red in it. It didn't fit in the room we bought it for so we put it in the guest room. The assembly was annoying. The cam lock holes did not line up properly with the "matching" sides. The backing is made from 2 pieces of thin cardboard like you would use for a science fair display. We had to make some panels out of styrofoam, cover them with fabric, put them in and attach them with nanotape. It doesn't have fixed sides with a single panel: it's basically 2 blocks stacked on top of each other. There are small pieces of black tape to cover the screw holes. Being made of chipboard, the interior will bulge if you make the mistake of driving screws (we used plenty of extras) or nails into the back panel (really the only thing holding this square in place). interruption. We keep it in the guest room where it will be used minimally: a few books, a napkin, a few paintings, some decorations and nothing else. We also recommend attaching it to a bobby pin to prevent it from tipping over. If you have small children who like to climb: DO NOT buy. As soon as they step on the shelf, everything can rain down on them. The shelves are held only by small pins. In general, I would wish for better quality. Sauder no longer makes durable bookshelves.
